Terms of Service

Podcord is a Discord bot that reads audio files from Discord channels you have access to and generates a private RSS feed URL you can import into a podcast app. That's it. We do not host audio, produce content, or control what Discord servers post.

You must have a valid Discord account and comply with Discord's Terms of Service. By adding Podcord to a server you confirm you have permission to do so. We have no way to verify any of this, and it's not our problem if you don't.

We store the minimum needed to run the service: Discord user IDs, server IDs, channel IDs, Discord CDN URLs (not the audio files themselves), episode metadata, feed tokens, and access logs (IP address, timestamp, user agent). Access logs are pruned automatically on a configurable retention schedule. You can delete all your data at any time with /delete-data.

Your feed URL contains a secret token. Anyone with that URL can fetch your feed. Keep it private. If it leaks, use /rotate to invalidate the old URL and get a new one. We are not responsible for feeds accessed by people you shared the URL with, intentionally or not.

Audio files are served directly from Discord's CDN. We do not control Discord's infrastructure, uptime, URL expiration policies, or anything else Discord does. Feed URLs may temporarily break if CDN URLs expire before our background refresh job runs. We try to refresh them every 4 hours. We make no guarantees.

Server administrators can remove channels, revoke subscriptions, or remove the bot entirely at any time. If you lose Discord permissions to a channel, your feed for that channel will stop working. This is intentional. Podcord enforces Discord's existing permission model — we don't override it.

Podcord is provided "as is" with no warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee uptime, data durability, feed availability, audio duration accuracy, or that any particular feature will work at any given time. The service may go down, break, or be discontinued without notice.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for any damages arising from your use of Podcord — including but not limited to lost data, missed episodes, expired feed URLs, service outages, Discord API changes, or anything else that goes wrong. If you're relying on this service for anything critical, that's on you.

Don't use Podcord to distribute content you don't have rights to, circumvent Discord's access controls, abuse the API, or do anything else that violates Discord's Terms of Service or applicable law. We reserve the right to remove any server or user for any reason, or no reason.

We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of Podcord after changes are posted constitutes acceptance. We won't notify you individually.
